The Jackson Generals fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Dr. Krop Lightning on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lightning by a score of 66-64. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Jackson has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Jackson still got an impressive performance from Jordany Fils-Aime, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assist. Fils-Aime hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonard Clark, who scored 15 points.
Even though they lost, Jackson were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dr. Krop only racked up ten assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dr. Krop to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joseph Washington, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Washington has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Emmanuel Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Dr. Krop, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Jackson will be playing in front of their home fans against North Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dr. Krop, they will head out on the road to face off against Palmetto at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Palmetto's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
