The Amundsen Vikings were the 42-40 winner over the Regina Dominican Panthers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Amundsen took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Regina Dominican on Saturday. Amundsen has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Regina Dominican's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jillian DeFranza, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Olivia Fraterrigo, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Amundsen has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Regina Dominican, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amundsen is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Taft at 5:00 p.m. on January 9th. Taft will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Regina Dominican, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodlands Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
