Baseball Recap: Fremont Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Fremont barely beat Layton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Silverwolves put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 16-1 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Silverwolves have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jace Hadley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adam Mikesell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Chase Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Fremont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fremont pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Layton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

As of now, neither Fremont nor the Lancers have any future games scheduled.
