The Jackson Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-42 walloping at the hands of Edison. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Jackson has suffered since December 1, 2023.
Jackson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amariss Santana, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Santana has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gabriela Gonzalez, who scored eight points.
Jackson has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Edison, they pushed their record up to 4-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Hialeah Gardens at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Hialeah Gardens' defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so Jackson's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Edison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coral Gables at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coral Gables is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
