KIPP College Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AJ Jackson, who scored eight points along with four steals. Jackson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dajuan Jones, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Thurgood Marshall Academy dropped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for KIPP College Prep, their victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thurgood Marshall Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. Friendship Collegiate Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for KIPP College Prep, they and the Eagles will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Parkside's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine games.
