The Hanks Knights will head out on the road to take on the El Dorado Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanks has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Hanks is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Del Valle 70-26 on Friday. With the Knights ahead 40-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Anette Hernandez
01/03/25 vs Del Valle | 5 |
11/26/24 vs Canutillo | 4 |
01/16/24 @ Parkland | 3 |
12/05/24 vs Coppell | 3 |
12/05/24 vs Boerne | 2 |
Hanks had a senior duo take command as Anette Hernandez dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 boards and Nevaeh Moore almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Hernandez a new career-high in blocks (five). Another player making a difference was Zoey Burton, who posted ten points and three steals.
Hanks was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 4.9.
Meanwhile, El Dorado won against Parkland on Tuesday with 46 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. El Dorado came out on top against Parkland by a score of 46-38. Winning may never get old, but the Aztecs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Hanks better keep an eye on Hannah Hicks. She was instrumental in El Dorado's win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 19 boards. Hicks has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Mia Nakiso was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.
Hanks' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-10. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points per game. As for El Dorado, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hanks has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like El Dorado struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Hanks skirted past El Dorado 50-47 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was El Dorado's Melanie Garcia, who went 9 of 16 on her way to 21 points along with six assists and six boards. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Hanks to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
