After a string of three wins, the North Garland Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Seagoville 64-59. While losing is never fun, North Garland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 696th, while Seagoville is ranked 245th).
Seagoville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adrian Valdez-Mata, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Travion Hall, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
North Garland now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Seagoville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
North Garland will be playing in front of their home fans against Wylie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wylie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully North Garland likes a good challenge. As for Seagoville, they will head out on the road to face off against Lebanon Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lebanon Trail is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
