Troy was led to victory by Carmen Brooks and Kiyah Baker. Brooks scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Baker scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelynn Smith, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Troy's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Fairborn, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy will take on Sidney at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fairborn, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Springfield at 6:00 p.m. Springfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fairborn in Ohio (Springfield is ranked 186th, while Fairborn is ranked 743rd).
