Wooster is 2-7 against North Valleys since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wooster Colts will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Valleys Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Wooster will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 64th, while North Valleys is ranked 18th).
Wooster unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 60-27 loss at the hands of South Tahoe. Wooster was down 52-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the loss, Wooster got a solid performance out of Khloe Glover, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, North Valleys stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 61-14 victory over Hug on the road. With North Valleys ahead 36-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
North Valleys found their leader in underclassman Ivy Williams, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Williams is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Annika Hester was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Wooster's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11. As for North Valleys, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Wooster, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-51 loss to North Valleys in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Williams, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. Now that Wooster knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
