The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sacred Heart Academy in their matchups with St. Mary's: they've now lost four in a row.
Sacred Heart Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Personius, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Personius hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Olivia Zablocki was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Sacred Heart Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for St. Mary's, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart Academy will challenge Nardin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Mary's, they will head out on the road to face off against Williamsville South at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Williamsville South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 404th, while St. Mary's is ranked 23rd).
