You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely The Providence Panthers''s strategy against the Garinger Wildcats on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Providence blew Garinger out of the water with a 77-12 final score. The result was nothing new for Providence, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Providence found their leader in underclassman Jackson Debe, who threw for 313 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Otavio Oliveira, who picked up 208 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The victory makes it two in a row for Providence and bumps their season record up to 4-5. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 56 points. As for Garinger, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence will square off against East Mecklenburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Mecklenburg is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Garinger, they will head out on the road to face off against Rocky River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocky River comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
