Make it seven blowout wins for the Franklin County Tech Eagles this season. They blew past Athol 54-29. The win was familiar territory for Franklin County Tech who now have seven in a row.
Hannah Gilbert continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Haleigh Benoit was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Athol still got an impressive performance from Anna Duquette, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Duquette has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Bonenfant, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Athol struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Franklin County Tech pulled down 26 offensive rebounds.
Franklin County Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Athol, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Franklin County Tech will be playing in front of their home fans against Pioneer Valley Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pioneer Valley Regional has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Athol, they will head out on the road to face off against Hopkins Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
