After losing to the Canon City Tigers the last time they met, the Coronado Cougars decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Coronado walked away with a 59-52 win over Canon City on Monday.
Seth Enoch was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 25 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Realiti Smith, who scored 11 points along with six assists and two steals.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brehner Jackson, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Sawyer, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Coronado's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for Canon City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Coronado will head out on the road to challenge Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palmer knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Coronado likes a good challenge. As for Canon City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mesa Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mesa Ridge will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
