Basketball Recap: Pueblo South Skates Past Littleton with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo South). They claimed a resounding 80-47 win over the Littleton Lions. With that victory, the Colts brought their scoring average up to 52.4 points per game.

Pueblo South's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sergio Salazar, who posted 15 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards. Those eight assists gave Salazar a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caeden Herrera, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Salazar wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Pueblo South was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Littleton only racked up 11 assists.

Littleton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Griffin, who had ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Cantrell, who put up four points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Pueblo South and bumps their season record up to 5-5. As for Littleton, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5.

Pueblo South will head out on the road to challenge Palmer Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palmer Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season. As for Littleton, they will welcome Colorado Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Littleton also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 54.4 points per game.
