The Sumner Spartans put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Skyline 59-27 at home. The result was nothing new for Sumner, who have now won six games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Leading Sumner to victory were Kessa Nohr and Lainee Houillon. Nohr scored 14 points along with three steals, while Houillon scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Houillon has scored at least 25% of Sumner's points. Adriana Perez was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Sumner pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Sumner will face off against Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Olympia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Sumner is ranked 11th). As for Skyline, they will be playing at home against North Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully North Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
