Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Inn Fury vs. Laurens Raiders

The Fountain Inn Fury will square off against the Laurens Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fountain Inn comes in on five and Laurens on three.

Fountain Inn is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 74-42 win over Aiken. The Fury have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Zipora Sullivan had an outrageously good game as she went 6 of 15 en route to 17 points and five steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Bell, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Fountain Inn was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Laurens' game on Saturday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 43-38 W over White Knoll.

Fountain Inn better focus on containing Zoe Young and Nyri Allen as the pair were huge in Laurens' win. Young dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards, while Allen posted 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Young has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 20 times she's played. Keyorie Yeargin was another key player, putting up seven points.

Fountain Inn's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Laurens, they pushed their record up to 8-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Fountain Inn strolled past Laurens when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 61-44. Does Fountain Inn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Laurens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
