The Armwood Hawks will face off against the Brandon Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Armwood will be strutting in after a win while the Eagles will be coming in after a loss.
Armwood had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 59-52 win over Riverview on Tuesday.
It was another big night for Talon Mckinnie, who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Davis, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Brandon, who are still winless after their 19th contest. They suffered a rough 65-42 loss at the hands of Strawberry Crest on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brandon in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost eight in a row.
Armwood's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17. As for Brandon, their defeat was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19.
Armwood and the Eagles were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, but the Hawks came up empty-handed after a 66-65 loss. Can Armwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
