The Bacon County Raiders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Irwin County Indians at 7:30 p.m. Bacon County is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Bacon County was beaten by Brooks County 35-7.
Deanthony Green put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last game, Irwin County made sure to put some points up on the board against Early County on Friday. Irwin County came out on top in a nail-biter against Early County and snuck past 31-29.
Irwin County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaken Thomas led the charge by rushing for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Luke Snyder, who threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes.
Brooks County's win bumped their season record to 4-5 while Bacon County's loss dropped theirs to 4-4.
Bacon County was dealt a bruising 66-7 defeat at the hands of Irwin County when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will Bacon County have more luck at home instead of on the road?
