It was a good run, but the Hanover-Horton Comets unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 45-26 to Springport. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hanover-Horton has scored all season.
Maddux Locke continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Springport, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Locke has scored at least a third of Springport's points. Hope Overweg was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Hanover-Horton's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Springport, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanover-Horton will take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Springport, they will be playing at home against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
