The East Tartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 60-14 loss at the hands of Notre Dame. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East has scored all season.
It was another big night for Ella Kirby, who went 8 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 3 assists for Notre Dame. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kirby has scored all season. Gracie Ashley was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
East bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.4 points per game. As for Notre Dame, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East will take on Green at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Notre Dame, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fisher Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Fisher Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
