Methacton blew Cheltenham out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Cheltenham got their revenge. The Warriors wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pope John Paul II ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic 12-11. The victory was nothing new for Pope John Paul II as they're now sitting on four straight.
Gavin Gross made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sam Buckley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Mischock, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Pope John Paul II kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
