Basketball Recap: Lowry Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Lowry won the last time they faced Churchill County, and Jaden Jimenez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lowry Buckaroos narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Churchill County Greenwave 65-63 thanks in part to Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Calin Anderson and Barry Mitchell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Anderson went 7 of 13 on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds, while Mitchell almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Anderson is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Edgmon, who posted six points.

Lowry's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Churchill County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Lowry will host Dayton at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Lowry is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season. As for Churchill County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-55 victory against Wooster on the 11th.
