The Reno Huskies were the 56-29 winner over the Elko Indians when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Reno took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elko on Friday.
Reno's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aidan Casey, who scored 9 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Harvey Smerdon, who scored 9 points.
Elko was led to victory by Bernard Fesenmaier and Preston Chamberlin. Fesenmaier scored 12 points, while Chamberlin scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Josiah Tinkorang was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 17 rebounds.
Reno's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Elko, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Reno is on the road again on Saturday and play against Lowry at 12:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Elko and Kuna will face off at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Kuna is ranked 14th in Idaho, while Elko is ranked 26th in Nevada).
