When it comes to explaining why Twiggs Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josh Nobles. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Nobles scored a full 58.3% of Twiggs Academy's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Blake Dupree was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Even though they lost, Twiggs Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Windsor Academy only pulled down 28 offensive rebounds.
Reed Barr had a dynamite game for Windsor Academy, scoring 23 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The contest was Barr's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Merrit, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Twiggs Academy's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Windsor Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twiggs Academy will take on Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Varsity Opponent and Twiggs Academy are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Windsor Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Gatewood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gatewood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Windsor Academy in Georgia (Gatewood is ranked 131st, while Windsor Academy is ranked 379th).
