Flowing Wells has gone 8-2 against Desert View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Flowing Wells will take on Desert View at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Flowing Wells put up the most points they have all season on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Rincon/University. The Caballeros not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17, 2024.
Yandel Rios-Arvayo was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tommy Padilla, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Flowing Wells always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Desert View entered their tilt with Pueblo on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Jorge Zazueta made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zazueta was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Orlando Pinedo, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Mark Hollonbeck also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Flowing Wells' victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10-1. As for Desert View, their record is now 10-4.
Flowing Wells beat Desert View 11-6 in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Does Flowing Wells have another victory up their sleeve, or will Desert View turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
