Clovis has gone a perfect 3-0 against Elk Grove recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Thundering Herd at 3:30 p.m. Clovis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Clovis not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14, 2025 (when they won 17-4). They never let Garces Memorial get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.
Caden Frantzich looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Elk Grove came out on top against St. Mary's on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Thundering Herd had just enough and edged out the Rams 7-6.
Ethan Bagwill looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tristen Bartlett, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Ford, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Clovis' record is now 4-2. As for Elk Grove, their record now sits at 6-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Clovis has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Elk Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clovis got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Elk Grove by a conclusive 12-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
