After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Johnson-Brock, the Diller-Odell Griffin were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 37-29 win over Lewiston. That's another feather in the cap for Diller-Odell, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Diller-Odell was led to victory by Cooper Morgan and Zachary Warren. Morgan scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and four steals, while Warren dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
When it comes to explaining why Lewiston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caleb Rule. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Lewiston struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Diller-Odell pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Diller-Odell's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Lewiston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Diller-Odell will be home for the holidays to greet Fairbury at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Fairbury is ranked 140th, while Diller-Odell is ranked 123rd). As for Lewiston, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkview Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Parkview Christian will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
