The Ossining Pride will head out on the road to face off against the Mamaroneck Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Ossining sitting on four straight wins and Mamaroneck on three.
On Thursday, Ossining didn't have too much trouble with Greeley at home as they won 71-54.
Ossining's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nicole Perriott, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds. Perriott has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Schnecker, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Mamaroneck can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They really took it to New York School for the Deaf for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-17 win on the road. Given Mamaroneck's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while New York School for the Deaf is ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ossining pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Mamaroneck, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Ossining beat Mamaroneck 67-58 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ossining since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
