The Kiowa Indians were the 53-43 winner over the Kit Carson Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Kiowa was beaten by Kit Carson 70-41 on Saturday. Kiowa just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Kiowa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Perreault. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perreault has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Karina Vidales, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kit Carson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shay Rady, who scored 19 points along with eight assists and five steals. Avery Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five assists.
Kiowa's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Kit Carson, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Kiowa will head out on the road to take on Deer Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Deer Trail comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Kit Carson, they will be playing at home against Wiley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Wiley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Kit Carson is ranked 82nd).
