Southeastern hasn't had much luck against Westfall recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 5:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Southeastern took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Unioto with a sharp 11-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Kylie Williams was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Gracie Brown was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ally Fisher, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Southeastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.6.
Meanwhile, Westfall never let their opponents score on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lynchburg-Clay 2-0.
Westfall's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kenzie Cook, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Gabby Henry also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Westfall pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Southeastern, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Southeastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Westfall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Southeastern might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Westfall when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
