The Shorecrest Scots had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 14-13 win over Marysville Getchell. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Shorecrest also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Arion Palacol and Shawn Etheridge certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Palacol threw for 83 yards and two touchdowns, while Etheridge picked up 54 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Shorecrest's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Marysville Getchell, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Shorecrest will head out on the road to face off against O'Dea at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. O'Dea will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Marysville Getchell will take on Bishop Blanchet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Bishop Blanchet is ranked 76th, while Marysville Getchell is ranked 88th).
