The Big Spring Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Susquenita Blackhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Big Spring's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Bermudian Springs 18-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
Zoey Zimmerman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Big Spring let Izzy Fry and Kendall Boring-Gutshall run wild. Fry went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Boring-Gutshall scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 4-for-5. Boring-Gutshall is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Adler, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Big Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Susquenita won against Northern Lebanon on Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Susquenita was the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Littlestown. Fans of the Blackhawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Ayahna Fleisher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Fleisher was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Addison Fritz was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kylah Fleisher was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Susquenita pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Big Spring, their record now sits at 2-0-1.
Both Big Spring and Susquenita just can't seem to miss. Big Spring has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13 hits per game. However, it's not like Susquenita struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
