The Port St. Lucie Jaguars pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harmony. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (58), Port St. Lucie still had to take the loss.
Port St. Lucie's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makhari Chambliss, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Ryan Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Port St. Lucie and nudges their season record down to 16-4. As for Harmony, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Port St. Lucie will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln Park Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Park Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 666th, while Port St. Lucie is ranked 111th). As for Harmony, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Celebration at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Celebration is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
