The Mogadore Wildcats won the last time they faced the Our Lady of the Elms Panthers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Mogadore came out on top against Our Lady of the Elms by a score of 35-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mogadore.
Mogadore's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ari Tompkins, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Tompkins has scored at least 25% of Mogadore's points. Rylee Clark was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Our Lady of the Elms' loss came despite strong showings from Pilar Hampton and Palmer Hampton. Hampton dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Hampton scored ten points along with five rebounds. Hampton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played.
Mogadore pushed their record up to 4-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.56 points. As for Our Lady of the Elms, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Mogadore will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Lowellville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Lowellville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 last Monday. Our Lady of the Elms will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North at 5:00 p.m. on January 5th. North is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
