The Cambridge Christian Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the Seffner Christian Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cambridge Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Seffner Christian is ranked 108th).
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought game, but Cambridge Christian had to settle for a 52-49 loss against Academy at the Lakes.
Despite the defeat, Cambridge Christian had strong showings from Caden Martinez, who scored 14 points, and Andrew Proffitt, who scored 14 points. The matchup was Martinez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Karston Michael Ash was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Seffner Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 31 points or more this season. They breezed by Patel on the road to the tune of 80-45. The victory was just what Seffner Christian needed coming off of a 75-50 defeat in their prior contest.
Cambridge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Seffner Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Cambridge Christian took a serious blow against Seffner Christian in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-27. Can Cambridge Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
