Alcona entered their tilt with Roscommon on Monday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They came out on top against the Roscommon Bucks by a score of 50-42. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Bucks are ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alcona got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Garrett Somers out in front who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Somers has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Borsvold, who scored ten points and six rebounds.

Alcona smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Roscommon lost, don't look at Keaton Pratt. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Klemmer, who put up six points and 11 boards.

Alcona pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points over those games. As for Roscommon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
