ELGIN, Texas -
Elgin (Texas) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 28-7 win over
Vista Ridge (Cedar Park, Texas).
The Wildcats scored 14 points in the first quarter. Elgin scored on a
Da'Trean Simmons touchdown run and a touchdown run by Simmons.
After taking the lead on a Simmons touchdown run in the first quarter, EHS led 21-6 at the half.
The Wildcats expanded their lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. Elgin scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run.
Vista Ridge's lone touchdown came on an 11-yard pass from
Matthew Snow to
Tyler Ziemann in the second quarter.
The loss comes after Vista Ridge defeated LBJ Austin 32-7 last week. With the win EHS extended its winning streak to three games. The loss snapped Vista Ridge's two-game winning streak.
