The Shaw Cardinals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over Cornerstone Christian. The victory was some much needed relief for Shaw as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Cornerstone Christian still got an impressive performance from Quinn Kwasniak, who went 7 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 40 points and 5 assists. Kwasniak scored a full 69% of Cornerstone Christian's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Archer, who scored four points along with eight assists.
Shaw's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Cornerstone Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-5 record last season and are now at 1-3.
