Hermiston's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as Nathan Waelty, Max Shilhanek, and Tabor Mills picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, while Chiawana put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Kamiakin. Chiawana claimed a resounding 44-0 victory over Kamiakin on the road. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Riverhawks considering their eight-point performance the contest before.
Hermiston's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Chiawana, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
Hermiston was taken down by Chiawana 49-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can Hermiston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
