Hobgood Charter is 0-3 against Bear Grass Charter since September of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hobgood Charter Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Bear Grass Charter Bears at 7:00 p.m. Hobgood Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Bear Grass Charter likes a good challenge.
Even though Columbia scored an imposing 32 points on Friday, Hobgood Charter still came out on top. Hobgood Charter walked away with a 42-32 victory over Columbia.
Meanwhile, Bear Grass Charter put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Mattamuskeet 50-14 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-6.
It was another big night for Brayden Taylor, who rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns. Taylor hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Noah Pritchett, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 7-2.
Hobgood Charter was dealt a bruising 68-32 defeat at the hands of Bear Grass Charter in their previous matchup back in September. Can Hobgood Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
