The Cunningham Wildcats waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 66-58 victory over Central Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Cunningham to victory were Luke Albers and Will Wegerer. Albers dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, while Wegerer almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Wegerer hasn't dropped below 19 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke McGuire, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Cunningham is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Central Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.
Cunningham will head out on the road to take on Skyline at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cunningham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 268 points over their last four games. As for Central Christian, they and South Barber will face off on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Central Christian is ranked 218th, while South Barber is ranked 204th).
