The St. Genevieve Valiants will be playing at home against the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Genevieve is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, St. Genevieve was beaten by St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy 35-7. While losing is never fun, St. Genevieve can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 691st, while St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy is ranked 283rd).
Meanwhile, Harvard-Westlake beat Mary Star of the Sea 14-7 on Friday.
Samuel Christopher was on fire: he rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry.
St. Genevieve's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. As for Harvard-Westlake, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
St. Genevieve and Harvard-Westlake were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, but St. Genevieve came up empty-handed after a 21-20 defeat. Will St. Genevieve have more luck at home instead of on the road?
