Edison is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Lanier a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Edison Golden Bears will be playing at home against the Lanier Voks at 7:00 p.m. Edison will be strutting in after a win while Lanier will be coming in after a loss.
Edison's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sam Houston as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Bears needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Eddi Nunez and Javier Herrera made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Nunez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Herrera struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Edison is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-8-1 otherwise. At bat, Nunez went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Herrera got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave Nunez a new career-high.
In other batting news, Damian Barrera was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ezrah Acosta-Torres, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Lanier lost 17-1 to Brackenridge on Tuesday.
Lanier saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reyes Echavarria, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was Echavarria's first of the season.
Edison's win bumped their record up to 5-9-1. As for Lanier, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
Lanier's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Edison has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Lanier, though, as they've only averaged .333. Will they be able to contain Edison's hitters?
Edison got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Lanier by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Golden Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Voks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
