Skyline is 2-8 against Blackfoot since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Skyline Grizzlies will head out on the road to square off against the Blackfoot Broncos at 7:30 p.m. Skyline is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Skyline pushed their score all the way to 70 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 79-70 to Shelley. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (69), Skyline still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, even though Bonneville scored an imposing 57 points on Wednesday, Blackfoot still came out on top. Blackfoot walked away with a 69-57 win over Bonneville. The victory was just what Blackfoot needed coming off of a 88-55 loss in their prior contest.
Blackfoot's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Andersen led the charge by scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Andersen is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Sy Callister, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Skyline has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Blackfoot, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Skyline came out on top in a nail-biter against Blackfoot in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 67-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Skyline since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
