Football Recap: Atascocita's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Atascocita scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 70-55 fall against the King Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Panthers are ranked 43rd).

Dionne Sims had an outrageously good game for King as he rushed for 435 yards and five scores while picking up 13.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 34 receiving yards and one touchdown. Sims' longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dillon Mitchell, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Atascocita's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2. As for King, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Atascocita is set to challenge their familiar foe Summer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. Meanwhile, King will square off against rival Goose Creek Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will also be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
