They fell just short of the Mustangs & Fillies by a score of 37-35. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for DeMotte Christian in their matchups with the Mustangs & Fillies : they've now lost eight in a row.
DeMotte Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cassie Nanninga, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Devries, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
DeMotte Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Kouts, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-17.
DeMotte Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kouts won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Cherokees at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Morgan Township presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs & Fillies in Indiana (the Cherokees are ranked 137th, while the Mustangs & Fillies are ranked 329th).
