Tonkawa is a perfect 3-0 against Fairview since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Buccaneers will take on the Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. Tonkawa will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Tonkawa needed a bit of extra time to put away Newkirk. They had just enough and edged out the Tigers 9-8.

Cason Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tonkawa got a big performance out of Brett Shepherd, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Shepherd has hit this season. Westyn Freeman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Fairview came out on top against Watonga on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Yellowjackets never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Bret Pembrook looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Haddon Miller was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Bonham, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Fairview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tonkawa, they pushed their record up to 20-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tonkawa hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Fairview struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tonkawa skirted past Fairview 5-4 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
