B District 3 recap November 13, 2013
Gretna added to the longest winning streak in B District 3 this week by beating Sidney, 24-17. The victory was the 11th in a row for the team.
Elkhorn South lost to Skutt Catholic 38-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zach Zelasko was a bright spot for the Storm, as he ran for 116 yards in the loss.
Nick Stoltenberg provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Gretna defeated the Red Raiders. He completed 12 passes for 120 yards and also ran for 33 yards. Stoltenberg's key target this week was Derek Templeman, who caught 4 passes for 55 yards.
Quinten Dawes was a key player and the best on defense this week as Chad Jepsen's team beat Sidney. The 5-foot-11 senior grabbed 2 sacks.
Zelasko was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 116 yards on 20 carries as Elkhorn South defeated Todd Ekart's team. Zach Reeg also contributed to the rushing game with 38 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Gretna's Stoltenberg and Templeman have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Stoltenberg has thrown for 1,493 yards this season, while Templeman has 32 catches for 646 yards. Zelasko from Guy Rosenberg's team leads the league in rushing with 708 yards.
The Dragons led B District 3 in points allowed with 17.
