The Garfield G-Men pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Ravenna 69-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (55), Garfield still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Garfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Preston Gedeon. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. Gedeon scored a full 38.5% of Garfield's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Vincent Yukich was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Even though they lost, Garfield were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Garfield and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Ravenna, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garfield won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Berkshire at 6:45 p.m. on January 3rd. As for Ravenna, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
