KIPP will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Granite City Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. One thing working in KIPP's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Even though Valley Park scored an imposing 68 points two weeks ago, KIPP still came out on top. KIPP took their matchup against Valley Park 75-68. Given KIPP's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Valley Park is ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Granite City pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-60 to Collinsville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (57), Granite City still had to take the loss.
KIPP's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Granite City, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
KIPP strolled past Granite City in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 61-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for KIPP since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
